How a pomodoro works
- Pick one task. Decide what the next 25 minutes are for.
- Work until the bell. If something else comes up, write it down and keep going.
- Take a short break. Five minutes to stand up, stretch or get some water.
- Rest longer every fourth round. After four pomodoros, take 15 minutes.
Timers for every kind of work
The same timer on your phone and tablet
Pomodoro Timer for Android has the same look and the same one-tap timer, on phones, tablets and foldables.
Questions
Will it ring if I switch to another tab?
Yes. The bell and the notification work while your browser is open, even when this tab is in the background. If you close the browser, the timer stops with it.
Why didn't I hear the bell?
Browsers only play sound after you have clicked the page once. Starting the timer counts, so the bell works from your first session. Check that your computer and this tab are not muted.
How do I get notifications?
The first time you start the timer, your browser asks whether this site may show notifications. Allow it. You can turn them on or off later in Settings. On iPhone and iPad, add this page to your Home Screen first.
Do I need an account?
No. Your settings and today’s progress are saved in this browser only.
Can I change the lengths?
Yes. In Settings, each session can be 1 to 240 minutes, and you choose how many pomodoros come before a long break.
Does it work offline?
After your first visit, yes. In Chrome and Edge you can also install it as an app from the address bar.
