50/10 Timer
50:00
Tap the circle to start. Hold it to cancel.
One hour, one break
The 50/10 rhythm fits neatly into an hour: 50 minutes of focused work, then a 10-minute break. It suits tasks that need time to warm up, such as writing, programming, design or long reading.
When 50/10 works better than 25/5
Short pomodoros can interrupt you just as you settle in. With 50-minute blocks you spend less time restarting and more time in the work itself. The 10-minute break is long enough to properly step away from the screen.
If you notice your attention fading well before the bell, switch back to the 25 minute timer. Neither rhythm is better for everyone; use the one that fits your task and your energy that day.
Making the break count
- Leave the screen: walk, stretch or get some daylight.
- Avoid starting anything you cannot finish in ten minutes.
- Before the next block, write one line about what you will do next.
The same timer on your phone and tablet
Pomodoro Timer for Android has the same look and the same one-tap timer, on phones, tablets and foldables.
